The Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) is a leading non-profit professional credentialing organization for the human resource management profession. Established in 1976, HRCI currently offers eight HR credentials, representing various levels of HR knowledge, skill and practice-based experience. Among the most widely held credentials are the Professional in HR (PHR) and Senior Professional in HR (SPHR). In total, more than 500,000 HR professionals in over 100 countries around the world have earned certifications from HRCI. All HRCI Certifications have earned program wide accreditation from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
