During this time, Tom became interested in Human Resources, particularly in Organization Behavior. He enrolled in the Executive Masters in Organizational Behavior at Fairleigh Dickinson.
Tom joined Lucent Technologies when it spun off from AT&T, and worked as an HR project/program manager for Business Communications Systems (BCS), Lucent’s largest division. BCS would later become what is now known as Avaya.
Tom’s tenure at Lucent provided him with a variety of interesting and challenging opportunities, from managing the annual employee engagement survey for over 33,000 employees in 40 countries to serving as the Head of HR for Lucent’s operations in the Middle East and Africa.
When the Alcatel-Lucent merger was announced, Tom decided to leave Lucent and set up his own consultancy, Glasscock & Associates, LLC. His first client was Barclays UK Retail Bank, working on a variety of HR-related projects for them over the course of 3 years.
More recently, Tom helped the IT department New York University (NYU) on a number of projects, including the upgrade of their ServiceNow platform.
